What we process
- Shop domain and app installation/session data required by Shopify OAuth.
- Shopify billing status and subscription metadata.
- App configuration such as enabled countries, active rate-table versions, app-owned delivery profile IDs, publication history, and merchant-reviewed rate overrides.
- Delivery address country, province/state, and postcode transiently inside the Shopify Delivery Customization Function during checkout.
- GDPR/privacy webhook audit records with minimal processing evidence.
What we do not store
Backblock Rural does not store buyer delivery addresses for checkout classification. The checkout Function receives delivery country, province/state, and postcode from Shopify during checkout and returns delivery-option hide decisions. That address data is processed transiently and is not written to the Backblock app database.
Backblock Rural does not store payment card details. App billing is handled by Shopify.
How we use data
We use data to authenticate merchants, confirm billing eligibility, create and update app-owned shipping rates, apply merchant-reviewed price overrides, classify delivery postcodes, hide inapplicable app-owned delivery rates, respond to Shopify privacy webhooks, and diagnose setup/support issues.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with service providers required to run the app and with Shopify through Shopify's app platform, APIs, billing, delivery profiles, Functions, and webhook systems.
Shop configuration, publication history, and billing metadata are retained while the app is installed and for a reasonable operational/support period after uninstall unless deletion is required sooner. GDPR/privacy webhook audit records are retained only as needed to prove privacy requests were received and processed.
